Ultimerse
Art Lead + 2D Artist
Ultimerse was a VR and video game studio based in West Melbourne under the Group 527 umbrella prior to it’s closure. I acted as 2D artist and later, art lead across all video game projects including Paper, Fire, Rookie! for VR and Vr Arcades across Asia, US, and Europe which won the Australian Game developer Award in 2019 for ‘Best VR game’ that I accepted on behalf of the team. In addition to regular art tasks, I reguarly worked with management on pitch documents and game bibles and presented them to internal and external stakeholders. Prior to studio closure, I was collaborating with my manager and project designer, and programmers, on an unreleased horror title in-engine.

Branding + Marketing
During my time at Ultimerse I was responsible for the studio branding and any released game branding. Examples of logo work are shown below.
Ultimerse always utilised ‘space’ theming to compliment it’s tagline ‘out of this world VR’, and the brand eventually evolved to have animated assets. Paperville Panic/Paper Fire Rookie required rapid fixes and maintenance due to name changes and needed to be localisation friendly for overseas arcade vendors. PFR! Logo needed to have an aesthetic of ‘chaos’ and ‘papercraft’ while also communicating that it was a family friendly fire fighting game.
Paper Fire Rookie
Paper Fire Rookie (formally known as Paperville Panic) was Ultimerse’s debut VR title. The game won the Australian Game Developer Award’s ‘Best VR’ prize in 2019. In my role of 2D artist I handled everything from Concept art to in-game 2D assets including UI and textures.
